Matthew’s father’s birthday is coming up, and Matthew needs to get a nice present for him. Spending his time roaming around car-trunk sales but not expecting anything was the only thing he could do with his tight budget. A new car pulls in, and in the trunk of that car, Matthew finds the object he was hoping to discover. A seemingly new Pentax camera that had only one or two flaws. He picked it up, and immediate noticed the other odd sale items. Board games (and noticeably the ouija board), books on unmentioned strange topics, and a few mundane objects here and there. Matthew didn’t know how important this camera would be to him.

This story was very intriguing. It included a normal event that anyone would go to, and Anthony Horowitz found a way to add twists to make the story scary and suspenseful.
