Individual v Supernatural
Two main conflicts appear in the short story, "Killer Camera", one of which is "Individual v. Supernatural." In this short story, the supernatural that Matthew is faced with is a demon trapped in a camera, killing anything it can focus on. This conflict affects Matthew a great deal. First off, it kills two things his family loves, the cherry tree in their yard, and their Labrador, Polonius. However, the story goes on, and the camera nearly kills Matthew's family, but fortunately no picture is taken of Matthew's family members. However, his family takes a picture of London, and makes all of London fall.
The other conflict is "Individual v natural forces". In this instance, the natural force that Matthew has to deal with is time. After Matthew figures out the truth of the camera and that his family took the camera to take pictures of each other, Matthew runs, hoping that he could reach them in time, so no one would die. As each second goes by, the chance of Matthew's family dying gets bigger and bigger.
